ABOUT CYNTHIA PERRY BROWN RN, RP

I consider it a privilege to do this work with my clients and I focus on what my clients want to improve in their lives. My therapeutic approach is an eclectic one that draws from Self Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Attachment Theory, Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT), Trauma Theory, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Addictions, and Mindfulness. I believe that every individual is unique and my diverse training allows me to tailor my work to the needs of each client.

Along with my current Counseling Practice, I work as a Registered Nurse in Mental Health providing group therapy for clients with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma, and Substance Use/Addictions. My past work experience includes: Crisis Intervention, Sexual Assault Care, Community Psychiatry, Employee Assistance Counselling and Parenting Difficult Teens groups. I have also developed and facilitated groups on Communication, Assertiveness, Relaxation, Addictions, and Relapse Prevention.
